It is recommended to use it in daylight leaving the lens cover to ensure that the reflection can be appreciated. When looking through the hole, the sloping and shiny surface will look like a bright circle in the middle. If the telescope is well collimated, there will be two reflections centered on the image.

Long version that fits into focusers or diagonals of 1 "1/4.
