It is a quadrant of local height, called "clinometers". This model is a reproduction and is calculated for a latitude of 51.5º N.

Its name derives from the fact that in the best-known version of this solar clock, the pearl route in both tropics traced two lines that resembled the hood used by the Capuchin monks. Its origin dates back to the fifteenth century, although it can not be specified with certainty.
