More info of Infrared thermometers
An infrared thermometer, is a temperature meter of a portion of the surface of an object from the emission of light of the black body type that produces. By knowing the amount of energy emitted by an object, and its emissivity, you can determine its temperature.
In general terms, the method comprises the measurement of light energy (which is in the IR band) with a detector that converts it into an electrical signal. This method allows to measure the temperature remotely, unlike other types of thermometers such as thermocouples that need to be in contact with the element that is measuring the temperature.
These thermometers are widely used in the industrial and food sector, the fact that direct contact is not needed makes work more comfortable and safe.
