Leica surprises again with its reputation as the best rangefinder binocular on the market thanks to the Geovid HD-R and HD-B both for its sophisticated measurement system and reliability combined with exceptional and innovative optics. The Leica Geovid 8x42 and 10x42 HD-R is a highly ergonomic, comfortable to use and intuitive binocular.
At the optical level, it is surprising that the Geovid HD-R and HD-B uses the
Perger joint prism in a
ceiling binocular . This combination of the Perger Porro Prism, which provides a
three-dimensional feel and depth of field , is
perfect when we integrate it into a ceiling binocular that is lighter and more compact. Thanks to its non-obstructing prisms,
fluorite optical glass and
fully multi-coated HDC optical treatment, we will obtain ultra-vivid images, with excellent color fidelity and high contrast even in conditions of deep twilight. In addition, the lenses have a Leica
Aquadura coating that repels water and dust and makes it easy to maintain and clean the equipment.
The
body of the binoculars is made of magnesium alloy with a rubber coating to protect the electronics, the optics and at the same time be light. The
third-generation design of the
Leica Geovid HD-R 2700 binocular is an open-bridge, curved body for improved ergonomics, stability, and fatigue-free viewing comfort. Thanks to its design we can hold it with one hand without hardly noticing vibrations.
The Leica Geovid HD-R 2700 binocular has a
distance measurement function
up to 2,500 meters or 2,700 yards. Thanks to the internal rangefinder it has the
EHR function that calculates the equivalent horizontal range to determine the actual shooting distance. Leica's own algorithm considers not only linear distance and angle, but also a realistic ballistic trajectory, which is much more accurate than the cosine function known as the trigger rule. The result is a highly accurate calculation of the EHR over a ballistic function range of 1,100 m. The measurement
indication is with
LED lighting and the intensity of the display is automatically adjusted according to the ambient light. It is
easy, simple and intuitive , just by pressing the button we will obtain the distance in less than 1 second and we will visualize both the linear distance and the shooting angle. If we continuously press the button we will see the variation of the distance in real time.
The
Leica Geovid HD-R 8x42 binocular is the most stable and with the largest field of view, making it ideal for long periods of observation, while the
Leica Geovid HD-R 10x42 will give us higher magnification for observations with maximum detail and quality enjoying of a wide field of vision.
