A rain gauge is a meteorological instrument that is used to measure the amount of rain that has fallen in a certain area and in a certain time. In effect, this apparatus was designed to measure the amount of millimeters that the water would reach if the soil were perfectly horizontal and thus be able to accurately collect and determine the precipitation that falls. Rain or precipitation is measured in l / m2 or mm. Precipitation is one of the variables that has the oldest climatic series and constitutes a key factor for vegetation and agriculture.
